The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and may shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home with a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined residence money doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 2025 nsfas application 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected nsfas status check of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
